Experienced, reputable home renovation experts for inner west Sydney, Georges River & Sutherland Shire areas
Scott Wellings established Buildwyse Constructions Pty Ltd in Marrickville in 1993. Due to the considerable age of many properties in this area, Buildwyse has had 30 years of experience in all aspects of building work on Victorian, Edwardian and Federation homes.
Our extensive familiarity with heritage buildings has allowed us to develop tried-and-true methods that enable all works to be carried out with minimal fuss. Construction challenges such as difficult access or dilapidated structures are handled with ease. With our long-standing local knowledge and broad spectrum of trades, we see any problem as resolvable.
From a small renovation to a large scale project, our aim is to carry out any construction with minimal inconvenience to our clients who, 90 per cent of the time, are still occupying their home.
We are also very experienced in contemporary design and construction, sensitively designed to complement older residences – or to seamlessly continue the style of a 21st century home into an extension.
Scott Wellings, Director
Scott commenced his four-year Carpentry Apprenticeship in 1981 with the NSW Master Builders Association. During this time Scott worked on many homes in Sydney, carrying out additions and alterations.
Scott’s passion for period building work started in 1985, when he worked as a leading hand carpenter for three years on the restoration of the famous and beautiful Queen Victoria Building, a significant civic project of the time. During this time Scott also completed his Clerk Of Works Certificate. Although this qualified him as a Building Inspector, Scott chose to remain working on domestic alterations. Scott obtained his personal Builders Licence in August 1990 and three years later established Buildwyse Constructions.
Scott continued his involvement with the Master Builders Association and in 2008 completed the MBA Building Consultants course. Scott was then accepted and accredited as a representative building consultant for the NSW Master Builders Association. He regularly undertakes further industry courses and remains as an accredited consultant with the MBA.
Scott is also an NRMA Preferred Builder & active Justice Of The Peace.
